The Croatian government has decided to abolish part of the crisis tax introduced in August 2009 because of recession and lack of state revenue.
The tax of two percent on all pensions and other income higher than 3,000 kunas or 409 Euros a month will be abolished from 1 July, but the tax of four per cent on all incomes higher than 6,000 kunas or 819 Euros a month will remain in force.
Thanks to the crisis tax, the government has had an extra 200 million kunas (27,527 million Euros) of revenue a month since August 2009.

real clever dicks, croatian government. in financial crisis, get people pay more tax and then wonder why consumption has declined - people had less money to spend, you geniuses... you know what australian government did instead? handed out $900 to everyone paying taxes. just gave money away, so that people's confidence (and their spending capability) would increase... and it worked, as you probably know - australia has not really been affected by gfc that much.
