Butcher returns 15,000 Euros found in bathroom

Croatian Times

An honest butcher who found over 15,000 Euros in his supermarket toilet has been rewarded by its owner after handing it in to a local police station.

Zoran Vuicic from the Apfel supermarket found the bag filled with money, documents and additional checks worth 400 Euros and reported it to his supervisor who immediately tried to locate its owner, Canadian citizen of Croatian origin John Crnchich.

Crnchich’s name, however, was not in the tourist registry.  He had, however, reported his bag missing to the Brac island police upon realising that it was gone.

The thankful pensioner – who said that the money in the bag was from his retirement and destined toward the restoration of a family house on Krk – rewarded the finder, but neither wanted to comment on the nature of the reward, the daily Jutarnji List writes.
