PM refutes rumours of IMF´s arrival to Croatia

Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor has refuted recent media claims that the country may need help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the near future.
"There is no need for the IMF's arrival and the government has not considered it," Kosor said. She added that speculations about seeking an arrangement with the IMF due to the country’s indecisiveness over the implementation of the new economic reforms are only rumours.
"We do not need anyone else but ourselves," Kosor said, adding that the government together with local community officials can and must implement the country’s economic recovery programme.
She said the programme had received the support of the World Bank and the IMF as well as leading economic experts in Croatia.
Kosor called on the unions, employers and local communities to lend their support to the programme’s implementation, the business portal Poslovni Dnevnik reports.
