Portal calls for posting photos of gay people

After Facebook groups calling for violence against homosexuals, another internet page has urged Croatians to post photos of gays in order to "protect Croatian citizens" by pointing at homosexual elements of society.

The internet page urges people to link their photographs – taken at the Pride parade in Split or others – to the main website, in large resolution.

Although the page is an open call for a lynch, the author of the website says he wants to "protect Croatia’s citizens by pointing to the homosexual part of the population," portal Dalje writes.

He says that all photos published so far come from public gatherings and thus do not violate privacy.

According to information that can be found on the internet, the owner of the domain is one Mirko Martinovic from Zagreb, allegedly living at Ticijanova 10.

The spokesperson for the Interior Ministry Krunoslav Borovec said they are aware of the existence of the page and that it is being investigated.

The portal reminds that a publication of photographs of 100 homosexuals in Uganda had led to the murder of the gay activist David Kato.
