Croatian businessman Horvatincic's driving 'ruthless'

The prosecutor has called Croatian businessman Tomislav Horvatincic’s behaviour behind the wheel "ruthless" at a trial in which Horvatincic is accused of causing the death of two Italian tourists when he hit their yacht with his speedboat.
Prosecution listed Horvatincic’s record which includes a verdict for causing a fatal car accident, three misdemeanour convictions and 31 traffic offences in the last 10 years.
At the time of the accident, Horvatincic was allegedly driving too fast, not paying attention to other traffic around him.
According to the prosecution, Horvatincic did not give way to the vessel of Francesco Salpietro and his wife Marinelda Patella, although the sailing boat had the right of way since it came from his right side.
Horvatincic's speed boat cut through the vessel, killing the Italian couple.
He faces 10 years in jail, daily Jutarnji List writes.

Banks in Croatia have once again posted huge profits. In the first three months of 2012, banks in Croatia record profits before tax of 1.29 billion kuna (170 million Euros), according to interim unaudited data for 32 banks in the country, it was announced on Wednesday by the Croatian National Bank (HNB).
Finance Ministry gets tough on evasive companies
At the request of creditors, Croatia's leading Financial Agency Fina has blocked around 38,000 companies and 26,000 tradesmen, because of more than 42 million kuna (5,3 million Euros) of outstanding liabilities, reports daily newspaper Vecernji list.
