Drinks in buckets in Dubrovnik as Aussies arrive

Croatian Times

The first wave of young Australian tourists, renowned for their alcohol consumption and whom were at the center of a media storm last year after comments from Croatia's former Tourism Minister, have made their way to the Dalmatian city of Dubrovnik.

Daily Croatian newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija writes that with the arrival of the young Australians, bar and cafe owners in Dubrovnik have developed special offers to cater for them. This year, because of the young Australians, tourists can get alcohol in a plastic bucket.

With drinks coming in the standard garden buckets, it also solves the problems of cleaning and smashed glasses says the newspaper.

Last year Croatia's former Minister of Tourism Pave Zupan Ruskovic was sacked after saying that she would prefer if Australians and New Zealanders stayed away from the ancient city because they were crazy and always drunk.
