Croatia the new Florida for retired Scandanavians

Croatian doctor and businessman Dr. Nikica Gabric has a vision to build health resorts for retired Scandanavians and believes that Croatia can be the next Florida, reports daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija.
"Out of Croatia we can make a new Florida with resorts for elderly guests who are in good health and live in the north of Europe where all winter is more or less night," said Gabric, adding that health resorts for Scandanavian pensioners could bring in between two and five billion Euros per season in Croatia.
The resorts would be built close to Adriatic towns where it is possible to be at a hospital within 30 minutes. The vision is not to build retirement homes, but to build resorts with a range of facilities such as swimming pools, shops, restaurants and other activities.
