Iva Bojic becomes first Croatian to win Google award

Engineering graduate Iva Bojic, from the University of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb, has become the first Croatian to recieve the Google Anita Borg Scholarship, writes daily newspaper Jutarnji list.
Bojic (27) receives a financial award for the academic year and is invited to attend a retreat at Google. The retreat will include workshops, speakers, panelists, breakout sessions and social activities scheduled over a couple of days.
The Google Anita Borg Scholarship is aimed at supporting women in technology and Google hopes to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders in the field. Bojic's impressive academic background and three excellent essays which she wrote, convinced the jury who awarded her the prestigious prize.
