Accused former PM Ivo Sanader off on Dalmatian holiday

Croatian Times

Former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, who is currently on trial in the countries biggest ever corruption scandal, is off on a summer holiday which will see him spend time in the Dalmatian cities of Split, Dubrovnik and on the Croatian islands.

Sanader applied to the Zagreb County Court for permission to spend summer outside of Zagreb. In the request, the former Prime Minister said he would be based in Split and would take short trips to Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian islands from 24 July to 24 August, reports daily newspaper Jutarnji list.

Sanader is currently on trial with his former political party members for siphoning off more than 70 million kuna (9,5 million Euros) from state institutions and companies.
