Croatian restaurant on list of best restaurants in the world

Croatian Times

American weekly magazine 'Newsweek' has published a list of 101 best restaurants in the world based on expert ratings from prominent chefs such as Anthony Bourdain. The restaurants are divided by continents, with Croatian restaurant " Konoba Batelina" from the Istrian city of Pula among the best in Europe.

"This is a lovely restaurant where all the family members work. David and his father catch the fish, the mother is in the kitchen preparing fish stew, and the sister takes care of desserts. Judging from my vast experience of preparing and eating fish, the fish could not be fresher than it is here. You eat on the terrace in this small coastal town where most residents are fishermen. If you find yourself there, try the crab salad and the fish stew with polenta," said Pula born American chef, author, and restaurateur who is the host of television show "Lidia's Italy", Lidia Bastianich.

On the list of best restaurants in Europe, there were a large number from the French capital Paris. Only two restaurants from Germany, Hot Spot and Weinbar Rutz, both from Berlin, made the list, reports daily newspaper Vecernji list.
