Opposition slams government for giving foreigners motorway concession

The government has been slated as ‘cowards’ by the opposition for giving so-called 'concessions' to foreigners to use state-owned motorways. Accusing it of being unable to make a profit, the Labour Party’s Nikola Vuljanic told parliament Tuesday: "As usual the government is not capable of doing this, so they’d rather give up on it and hope someone else will put it in order." The opposition is opposed to the government's decision to accept money from foreign companies in return for them using motorways. He was joined in his criticism by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), who said the matter should go to referendum.
