Bulgaria launches 'online consul' after a sea shell incident in Croatia

An incident in Croatia has spurred Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry into launching an "online consul" service to warn Bulgarians travelling abroad of potential dangers.
The move follows the case of Bulgarian Dimitar Boyanov who spent 18 days in a Croatian jail and was fined 900 Euros after trying to take an empty seashell he found on a beach as a souvenir out of the country.
He was arrested at the border for attempting to smuggle out a rare Pinna Noblis clam shell.
Bulgarian Foreign Ministry spokesman Vesela Cherneva told local media the Ministry's website is to be upgraded to include detailed information on various countries by the end of next week.
