Friar accused for running away with mystery woman and church's 1 million Euro

A Franciscan monk who sold off church land worth 1 million Euro and then disappeared with a mystery woman is being hunted by church authorities in Croatia.
The 34-year-old named Sime Nimac was last seen two weeks ago driving off in a flash sports car with the woman beside him in the southern town of Baska Voda.
A church spokesman told local newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija they had been tipped off after Nimac sold the 43,000 sqm of land and promised locals he would use the money to carry out renovation work but then vanished.
The spokesman added its authorities were now investigating.
