A convict who made a daring prison escape by shinning down a 70ft drainpipe was cheered on by a crowd of passers who were so impressed they didnít call the police.
Thief Nermin Cejvanovic, 23, was cheered on by locals as he made his way down the side of the prison in Zadar and then legged it as the† gathered crowd continued clapping.
"He'd shown such skill and courage it would have been wrong to put him back in jail," explained one stander-by.
Cejvanovic was eventually rearrested after spending a day on the run.
