Ante Gotovina Person of the Year

Croatian Times

Retired Croatian General Ante Gotovina has been chosen as Person of the Year 2012.

The 57-year-old who was wanted for war crimes following Croatia’s war of independence, pipped politicians, sportsmen and humanitarians to the post after 15,000 readers of daily Vecernji List voted for the person who best represented an example of humanitarianism to young people.

For a country like England that raped and piliaged country after country, your comments are pure ignorant. Focus on what Kate will call the baby and leave these articles alone.

What a disgrace! The mans a war criminal who was indicted on a number of war crimes and crimes against humanity charges for crimes committed in 1995 during and in the aftermath of Operation Storm. If innocent why would he spend four years in hiding, before being captured in the Canary Islands in December 2005. In April 2011, Gotovina was found guilty on eight of the nine counts of the indictment and sentenced to 24 years of imprisonment. Certainly not worthy of this award. Croats need to remove their rose tinted glasses and see the man for what he is. A criminal.
