World´s first book written live on Facebook gets printed edition

Croatian Times

World's first book written on Facebook and including Facebook users' comments in the printed edition will be promoted next week in Split, Croatia.

London's daily paper Metro said that the project "found a novel use for the world's biggest social network".

The book has attracted a lot of attention and has launched a campaign for online book shop www.webknjizara.hr.

"We intended to experiment with creating the book live on Facebook and to allow traditional book readers to buy the hard copy with Facebook users' comments still in there after every chapter", the author Ivo Scepanovic has said.

"We are also using modern e-book technology as well as traditional printed editions. We believe this is a kind of cross-over that will keep different groups and generations happy", he has added.

The book called "Facebook as weapon" is a novel about a girl of Russian origin living in Croatia and planning a revenge to people that were making jokes out of her for being against modern gadgets like iPhones and iPads, so she decided to hit them back with their weapon. She organizes revenge via Facebook.

The book will be presented on 23 February in Marko Marulic Library in Split, Croatia with participation of some world known social network experts that will be present online.
