From 11 May to 15 July the Etnographic museum Zagreb will host a beer themed exhibition 'IDEMO NA PIVO!' (Lets Have a Beer! A View to the Culture of Beer Consuption), reports Croatian daily newspaper Večernji list. Visitors will be able to see a beer label collection brought by beer connoisseur and publicist Mladen Klemencic, vintage glass bottles including some of the first specimens which are more than one hundred years old, beer mugs and beer themed graphics and also learn more about the history of the popular drink in Croatia. The first evidence of beer consumption in Croatia dates back to 1800 BC and was traced on the archeological site Vucedol. Since its beginnings it was a folk drink, usually consumed in company. During the Middle Ages it was produced in monasteries while first beer mugs date back to the 19th century period of the Habsburg Monarchy. The exhibition also includes lectures that will be held every Thursday and degustation of Karlovacko beer.
