Croatian video game nominated for European video games 'Oscar'

Croatian Times

The online video game Gas Guzzlers Combat Carnage, developed by Croatian company Gamepries, has been nominated for the best racing game at the European Games Awards which will be held in the German city of Cologne on 14 August.

The nomination is a prestigious honour for the Croatian development company, as it goes head to head at the awards with some of the big players in the industry, including titles such as "F1 2011" and "Dirt Showdown".

The action, combat, racing game puts players in the driving seat of a metal vessel of mayhem, blasting away anyone that gets in their way as they race around more than 150 miles of track. The game features both single and multiplayer modes, and was released for PC via digital distributors and retail networks in March.

Voting for the "European Oscars" of racing video games is open until 13 August and on 14 August the awards will be presented at Gamescom, the largest video game fair in Europe in Cologne.
