Croatian Times

The best local and international blues musicians will descend on the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County when the 5th Kastav Blues Festival starts today (Thursday), writes daily newspaper Novi list.

The Kastav Blues Festival, traditionally held in Kastav in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, will also see part of this year's programme held in nearby towns of Matulji, Ronjgi and Cavli. Next year the festival is planning to include two more towns in the programme.

Legendary Croatian singer Zdenka Kovacicek will open the festival which was established in memory of the late Jerry Ricks from Philadelphia, one of the most famous country blues representatives. The festival will feature a series of concerts from local and international acts and closes on 5 August.
