The 3rd edition of the international film festival titled "AVVANTURA FESTIVAL FILM FORUMZADAR" and is to be held in the Dalmatian city of Zadar from 25 - 31 August. The main programme of the festival focuses on European coproduction, and brings together numerous Croatian premiers, award-winning and first and foremost interesting films.
Films to feature at the 7-day festival include Golden Lion award winner from the Venice Film Festival, Aleksandr Sokurov's "Faust", Golden Palm winner from the Cannes Film Festval, "Amour", by Michael Haneke, "Tabu", by Miguel Gomes, which was awarded at the Berlinale with the Alfred Bauer award, and "Death of a man in Balkans", directed by Miroslav Momcilovic, which was recently awarded the Independent Camera Award at the Karlovy Vary Film.
The festival will also feature "short films section" and "1st & 2nd Film" category, new programme which will screen 1st and 2nd feature, animated and documentary films from all over the world.
The student films section brings films from all over the world which usually deal with alienation, loneliness and painful maturation.
In the section "Classics at the Adria", a tribute to the great master Michelangelo Antonioni, one of the most significant authors of the 20th century will be screend, and also a celebration of his 100th birthday with the films L’eclisse, LaNotte, L’Avventura, Blow up, Cronaca di un amore, Identificazione di una donna, Deserto rosso, and Zabriskie Point.
The "AVVANTURA FESTIVAL FILM FORUMZADAR" is the first and only Festival in Croatia that is involved in the programme "Eye of Films", a new business model for promoting, circulation, and distribution of debut films. This is a unique global network that consists of about 40 film festival and 39 international film distributors which guarantees the flow of films and their commercial exploitation.
The film festival also partners with also partners with "Nisi Masa", a European networkthat brings together young professionals from 26 countries with the intention of finding new talents and developing of the audio-visual projects.
