Tambura players to boost klapa spectacle in Split

Croatian Times

Croatian a cappella (klapa) spectacle "Ne damo te pismo nasa", which in the last six years has seen crowds of more than 100,000 people at Poljud stadium in the Dalmatian city of Split, has been given an added boost this year.

It has been agreed that at the concert, which is set to take place on 2 September, the best Dalmatian klapa groups will be joined by the best tambura players in the country, turning the music project into a national event.

"With the help of 24 radio stations, we have selected the best Dalmatian klapa groups so from the audience tastes this year klapa groups "Bunari", Kumpanji", "Sinj", "Cambi-Split", "HRM", and Sibenik's "Maslina" will perform at Poljud," said organiser Ivica Bubalo.

The klapa programme will be enhanced by the performance this year of "The best Croatian tambura players" (ex Zlatni dukati ) and Gazde.

"The tambura players will perform ten of the most popular songs from their musical expression, and we have already agreed in principle that after the concert in Split, we will do it all again in the city of Osijek," added Bubalo.

Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow and can be purchased via www.eventim.hr
