Torcida fan club to boycott Hajduk –Dinamo game

Croatian Times

The Hajduk Split football fan club "Torcida" is dissatisfied with the club’s management and planning to boycott future games.

The club is calling on all its members and other Hajduk fans to boycott the Hajduk-Dinamo Zagreb match on 31 October in Split.

Torcida officials announced today (Thurs) they were disappointed and angry with Hajduk's bad management in past years. They said current and former management had taken the club to the brink of disaster.

One Torcida official said: "We will not be at the game because we also want to send a message to overpaid players who have disgraced Hajduk with their play."

Club Secretary Stipe Lekic said it was the saddest decision in Torcida's 59 years of existence.

Torcida officials are planning to gather in front of Saint Duje Cathedral in the city centre before the Hajduk-Dinamo match to light candles for Hajduk's resurrection and to watch the game on a video screen at Hajduk’s old stadium thereafter.
