Medvescak captain hurting as final dream ends

Croatian Times

Croatia's ice hockey team in the EBEL league, Medvescak from Zagreb, will now look ahead to next season after bowing out in the semi-final to Austria's KAC from Klagenfurt last night. Medvescak lost last night's (Thurs) encounter in the Croatian capital and with it losing the series 4-1.

After their best ever season in the EBEL, Medvescak captain Alan Letang says that not reaching the final, which was the dream, will take some getting over, reports website sportnet.hr.

"Maybe it's a little disappointing, but KAC played well. Some things that were going good for us in the regular season reversed in the playoffs and I think this will hurt us for a while. We will ask what we could do better or change, but all of us have been taught a good lesson," said Letang.

The end now means a break and a chance to start making preparations for next season.
