Klasnic prays for teammate fighting for his life

Croatian Times

Bolton's Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic has talked about the shock he and fellow teammates were in after one of their players, Fabrice Muamba, collapsed in front of Croatian Luka Modric during Bolton's FA Cup match with Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Muamba, who went into cardiac arrest, was reported to have been brought back to life on the pitch by medical staff after his heart had failed. "It's hard to talk when your teammate is fighting for his life. We are not training, just waiting for some news from the hospital. We are all shocked, I pray for him," said Klasnic.

Sports cardiologist Sanjay Sharma says that the cardiac arrest which Muamba experienced on the pitch effects one in 50,000 for that age bracket. Nevertheless, it has prompted Croatia's Tottenham stars, Modric and Niko Kranjcar to have an urgent check up, reported Croatian daily newspaper 24sata.
