Cibona from Zagreb are Croatian Basketball champions for the 17th time after beating Cedevita 3-1 in the best-of-five playoff finals. There was a full house on Tuesday night at Dom Sportova in Zagreb as Cibona fans watched their team beat Cedevita 77-64 to wrap up the series.
Cedevita coach Drazen Anzulovic was philosophical about the loss. "Cibona deserved their victory , they had more energy and concentration. They controlled the whole game. Our season has been a success. We have lost though to a better opponent," said Anzulovic.
Successful Cibona coach Jasmin Repesa is uncertain of his future after leading Cibona to its 17th Croatian title, reports daily newspaper 24sata.
"I have not signed anything yet, but I am closer to leaving than to staying. If I go I will recommend who should be the next coach at Cibona. I think I have a right for that. This is my favourite out of the four Croatian titles I have won. I dedicate this to Cibona legends who have helped when when I needed it most," said Repesa after the match.
