Croatian Times
The Croatian national cricket team will take on Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Malta, Spain, Finland, Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Portugal, Sweden and Estonia for a place in ICC European Division 1, when the ICC European Division 2 Cricket Championships are played on ths island of Corfu in Greece from 3-8 September.
The top two sides from the tournament will be promoted to take part with ten other countries in the 2013 ICC European Division 1 Championship, a stepping stone to the ICC Twenty20 World Cup which will be held in India in 2016.
Cricket in Croatia continues to develop after the country gained membership to the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001. The Croatian Cricket Federation is constantly on the lookout for sponsors as it aims to develop and grow the unfamilar sport of cricket in Croatia.
