Croatian kicks off at Wimbledon officials

Croatian Times

Croatian tennis player Ivo Karlovic has gone on a rant, attacking Wimbledon officials of favouritism after being called for 11 foot-faults in his loss to Britain's Andy Murray in the second round of the London Grand Slam.

"I feel cheated. The umpires have robbed me and on centre court at a Grand Slam," said a disappointed Karlovic, before continuing his rant.

"Is this the Davis Cup or Wimbledon?!? After this robbery, the whole credibility of this tournament went down for me. I have never in my career felt so bad, not even when I was an 8-year-old kid starting to play tennis."

Murray beat the big serving Croatian 7-5, 6-7, 6-2, 7-6, but Karlovic believes that the 11 foot faults called against him were wrong.

"Every foot fault was given in a situation when there was a break point, there was never one called when I was leading or losing 40-0," complained Ivo.

When asked if he thought that the locals wanted to see Murray in the final of Wimbledon at all costs, Karlovic ironically replied: "Not just at Wimbledon, but the whole of England, pardon, the whole of Great Britain wants him there."
