Former Hajduk Split, Cannes, Marseille, Lazio, Juventus and Middlesborough striker Alen Boksic, will be new Croatia football coach Igor Stimac's right hand man, reported daily newspaper Vecernji list.
Boksic, who was once the highest paid player in the English Premiership when he was reportedly earning 63,000 GBP a week at Middlesborough, will be Stimac's assistent as the duo aim to take Croatia to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
"I am happy that I will be working with Igor, this seems to me to be the ideal conditions for my return to football," said Boksic, who has been in football wilderness since his retirement in 2003.
"I want to feel the stress and adrenalin, this is an extremely interesting situation, in front of us is qualification for the World Cup in Brazil, which offers every I want," concluded Boksic.
