Goran Ivanisevic 'excited like a kid' as tennis camp starts

Croatian Times

Croatia's greatest ever tennis player and former Wimbledon champion, Goran Ivanisevic is "excited like a kid" as his tennis camp for promising young tennis stars from all over the world is in full swing.

The Dubrovnik International Tennis Camp is currently being held in the southern Dalmatian city for kids aged from 10-16-years of age.

"I am just as excited as the kids who are here at the camp for the first time. It is also my first time running a camp. I have come face to face with the best players in the world, but to transfer the knowledge is something completely different." said Ivanisevic, who added that he was impressed with the Dubrovnik City Council for recognising the potential of the project.

The camp is the result of collaboration between the City Council of Dubrovnik, the Tourist Board, Ragusa Tennis Club, Tennis Centre Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik County Tennis Association and according to the mayor of Dubrovnik, Andro Vlahusic, the gathering of young athletes in the international tennis camp, will runs until 29 July, will give impetus to the development of sport in the Dubrovnik region.
