New Faces in Stimac's Croatian team for Switzerland

Croatia football coach Igor Stimac presented his support staff and also named his first squad as new coach at a press conference at Split's Poljud stadium on Monday.

Stimac presented former Croatia players Alen Boksic, Igor Tudor and Kruno Jurcic, who also coached Dinamo Zagreb, as his support staff and Tomislav Rogic as the new goalkeeper coach before naming his first side as coach for Croatia's friendly against Switzerland on 15 August in Split, writes daily newspaper 24sata.

There was no room in the new squad for Euro squad members Ivan Kelava, Joe Simunic, Tomislav Dujmovic or Nikola Kalinic.  New faces in the squad include Hajduk Split's Mario Maloca and Ante Vukusic and Dinamo Zagreb's Mateo Kovacic.

The squad is: Stipe Pletikosa, Danijel Subasic, Darijo Srna, Ivan Strinic, Vedran Corluka, Domagoj Vida, Gordon Schildenfeld, Mario Maloca, Danijel Pranjic, Dario Knezevic, Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic, Ivan Perisic, Niko Kranjcar, Milan Badelj, Ognjen Vukojevic, Ivo Ilicevic, Mateo Kovacic, Ivica Olic, Eduardo da Silva, Mario Mandzukic, Nikica Jelavic and Ante Vukusic.

"I want to thank the previous coaching staff for what they left behind and I congratulate them on the great start they have made in the Russian championship. I want to also thank the fans for their support so far, and we hope it will continue," said Stimac.
