Dinamo Zagreb through to UEFA Champions League play-offs

Croatian Times

Dinamo Zagreb are through to the play-off phase of the UEFA Champions League after a comfortable 4-0 win over FC Sheriff from Moldova last night at Zagreb's Maksimir stadium.

Goals to Domagoj Vida, Fatos Beqiraj, Duje Cop and Luis Ibanez sealed the victory for the Croatians, which has now guaranteed at least a place in the UEFA Europa League.

"Everyday we are getting better and better, as I said we would. We have won three games in a row, a run of success in European matches. Today we secured at least a place in the UEFA Europa League," said Dinamo coach Ante Cacic.

Dinamo Zagreb now face either AEL from Cyprus, Maribor from Slovenia, H.Kiryat Shmona from Israel, Helsingborg from Sweden or CFR Cluj from Romania for a place in the UEFA Champions League. The draw is made on Friday with the matches to be played on 21-22 August and 28-29 August, reports daily newspaper 24sata.
