Zagreb 9th on list of cheapest European cities

Croatian Times

Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, was placed nineth on the list of cheapest European cities to visit in 2012 according the web page Price of Travel.

"Croatia's capital is developing quickly so it might not be wise to keep putting off a visit," writes Price of Travel.

First on the cheap travel list is Bulgarian Sofia, second place went to Polish Krakow and third to Budapest, Hungary.

According to Price of Travel, Zagreb is a great stop on the way to the Adriatic Sea and the average spend amounts to 43.64 US Dollars per day.

Even Croatian world renowned travel destination Dubrovnik is listed but in 21st place out of 40.

"Compared to the rest of 'Eastern Europe' the beach resort of Dubrovnik is pricey, but compared to similar beach resorts in Italy, it's still a bargain," Price of Travel writes.
