Istria, Kvarner and Dubrovnik Croatia's top 3 destinations

Croatian Times

According to official results released ahead of the start of the tourist season, the top three most popular destinations in the country are Istria, Kvarner and Dubrovnik, reports website dalje.com.

This weekend those three places are expected to be busy as Croatians join yesterday's passover holiday in the country with the weekend giving those fortunate ones a 4-day weekend.

"A lot of people have connected the holiday with the weekend, we are expecting hotels to be full along the Adriatic coast," said director of the Croatian travel agents association Boris Zgomba.

There were 9 per cent more tourists in the first 5 months of the year in Croatia and 13 per cent more overnight stays compared with the same period last year with Istria (north west Adriatic), Kvarner (northern Adriatic) and Dubrovnik in the south of Dalmatia still the most popular tourist destinations.
